So I was supposed to get my meet & greet pass at 5:45 before the concert and meet her before the show, but they didn’t have my pass until 6:15 and by then it was too late to go in. Me and two other girls (Who won the Just Dance competition) thought we weren’t even going to meet her. I was about to cry before the concert even started. It was awful. But this guy made sure that all three of us met in the arena after the concert.

The concert was, in a word, amazing. Life changing. I was less than a foot from her almost the entire time because I was in General Admission right in front of the stage. I could go on about each and every song, but I won’t.

After the concert approximately 20-something people met up in the seats and waited to be escorted to the room. Since me and this other girl were KatyCats, we got to go last because Katy likes to see them before she leaves. The girl saw my post on the forum and hoped that I would win as well. I waited for about 30-45 minutes and then Angela (her sister) came out and said “Alright KatyCats! Sorry for the wait!” And I walked in and she was standing there.

The room was longer than it was wide and she was on the other side. I made my way over and was shaking so much that I dropped all of my things. She started to bend down, and so did Angela but when I did I dropped my phone so I just said “Oh, just leave it” and I went to the table with Katy and I was like “Oh my god… you’re real” and she laughed and said “Hi, I’m Katy!” And I told her my name was Anna. I could get one thing signed so I brought this picture of her from Seventeen like two years ago. Before she started writing I asked for a request. I told her that when I’m eighteen I’m getting a tattoo that says “After a hurricane comes a rainbow” and she said “Oh! Okay, well do you have another piece of paper?” And so I gave her the back of my ticket and she said it was perfect. She asked how old I was, and I said 16 and she said “That’s good that you’re waiting until you’re 18” And I said “Yeah, my mom would kill me” and she laughed. Then she asked how to spell ‘hurricane’ because she didn’t wanna mess it up. So I told her how to spell it. Then she said “You can get a picture with me if you want!” And I said okay, and handed Angela my camera. So the picture was taken and she was about to say goodbye when I said “I just wanna let you know that you saved me” and she’s like “Oh, no I didn’t”. And I said “You are the reason I didn’t commit suicide”. And she said “Well I’m glad. It’s important that you’re here” And I nodded and smiled and said “I love you so much” and she said “I love you too” and hugged me. As I was walking out she hollered to have a safe ride home. I was about to leave and the Key Arena people made me wait for the other KatyCat to be done because they didn’t want me waiting outside alone at one am. So the other girl came out, with Katy right behind her. We got to the hallway and she went down the opposite way of us, and said “Bye guys!” And I looked over my shoulder and smiled and she gave me this look that I can’t even explain.

I did it. I actually got to meet her. She is everything. She is worth every tear that I’m shedding right now. She will always be there for me. Even when no one else is.
